If I ask you to name whatever comes to mind when I say Halloween, candy would probably be pretty high on the list.
And it should be. It’s enough we give kids a hard time about too much candy all the other 364 days of the year. There’s really not too much you can do about it, so why not let them go crazy that one day, right?
But even candy tastes better (is that even possible?) when it comes in a pretty package. And that’s what we’ve got for you today.
DIY Halloween Treat Bags
We came up with this adorable paper Halloween craft idea. These scary Halloween treat bags (or boxes or something in between) are made of toilet paper rolls and of course, a printable from our members’ library.
How to Make our Easy Halloween Favor Bags?
These are pretty self-explanatory, but I’ll walk you through it just in case.
You will need:
- Paper rolls
- Our printable Halloween treat bags template (download it from the members’ library)
- glue
- Tissue paper (preferably black and green)
- A string
- And candy!
1 Download and print out the Halloween treat bags template.
You can choose from a color template and a black and white template. If using the latter, have your little one color it in.
2 Cut out the character. Just to make sure, wrap it around the toilet paper roll to see if it fits. It should overlap a bit on the back.
3 Glue the band with the character onto the toilet paper roll.
4 Now make the inserts. Cut a piece of tissue paper measuring about 12 x 12 inches. Place some yummy candy inside and wrap it up. Tie it on top with a string.
5 Place the inserts inside the paper roll. Cut off any excess tissue paper on top (aka give Dracula a haircut).
6 And you are done!
How cute are these? I mean, scary cute. Right?
These will be a hit at a kids’ Halloween party, you can give them to trick or treaters, or make them just as a fun paper Halloween craft. Either way, there’s candy inside. So what’s not to love.
