When it comes to Easter eggs, there are so many amazing ideas out there it is hard to choose one! I love so many of them and honestly, I have tried my fair share of techniques. So this year I thought I’d try making something different.
I’ve come up with these adorable mini garland Easter eggs and I must say I love them! They are my favorite kind of DIY. This means you probably have all of the materials already, it is super easy to make and it makes a minimal mess. While I do love some creative mess every once in a while, we all know Easter egg dyeing can get a bit out of hands sometimes. Or maybe it is just me…
Anyhow… if you are looking for something simple, you will love these. We used white eggs as the base for these mini garland Easter eggs because we love the contrast with the colorful paper. But if you think Easter eggs absolutely must be dyed, the mini garlands will work with colored eggs as well. Just choose a nice contrasting thread and paper, so the mini garland really stands out!
To make your mini garland Easter eggs you will need:
- Embroidery cotton thread in chosen colors
- Origami paper in various colors
- Paper glue
Let’s make this!
1 Cut a 25 inch (64 cm) piece of thread.
2 Fold a piece of paper and cut tiny triangular shapes on the fold. You should get double triangles. We made about 20 per egg.
3 Using paper glue, attach the triangles on the thread, forming a tiny garland.
4 Wrap the garland three times around the egg. Secure with a knot.
Easy peasy, right? If you’re pressed with time or just want to try something different this year, try making these mini garland Easter eggs yourself! We hope you love them as much as we do!
