We love surrounding ourselves with little things that make us smile, and these multi-colored tassels are sure cute enough to make you just a tiny bit happier every time you see them. They are really easy to make, don’t require any special skills and you probably already have everything you need to make them at your house.
To make your multi-colored yarn tassels you will need:
- Yarn
- Embroidery cotton thread in various colors
- Scissors
Let’s make this!
1 Lay your yarn down and define the approximate size of the finished tassel. Keep in mind that the loop will take up some of the length, so make it a bit longer if you are not sure (you can always cut it off later).
2 Start unrolling the yarn and fold it at the defined length multiple times. This will give thickness to your tassel.
3 Define the size of the loop and mark it with two knots.
4 Now it’s time to start adding color to the loop. Using the embroidery thread make a double knot. Holding the yarn tassel in one hand, start wrapping the embroidery thread around the yarn loop. Finish each color segment with a double knot. Do this until you have reached the other end of the loop.
5 Close the loop. Double knot your embroidery thread (in our case the yellow) and wrap it around both sides of the loop. Make a double knot at the end.
6 Finally, trim the ends of the tassels and fluff up the yarn to make it nice and pretty. And you are done!
What do you think? Where would you hang these beauties?
