Can you believe that it’s already Day 10 of the YES! Christmas Activity Challenge? We hope it’s been as fun for you as it has for us!
And of course, today we’ve got a new one for you.
Make your Reindeer Antlers!
You gotta love reindeer, right? Whether it’s Sven from Frozen (yes, we’re in that phase) or any of the Santa’s helpers… they’re just so lovable. (That’s also why we had to make this printable reindeer Christmas card).
For today’s project, we thought we’d make real paper reindeer antlers. Kids love making things like that and then playing with them and just being goofy. After all, it is the merriest season of all, so why not have some silly fun?
How to Make Your Reindeer Antlers
To make your printable reindeer antlers, you will need:
- our free template (instructions to download are at the end of the article), printed out on cardstock
- Crayons or acrylic paint
- A stapler or glue
First, cut out the pieces of the template. If your kids are old enough, they can do this themselves. Otherwise, help them with the cutting.
Then, have the kids paint or color their antlers. You can stick to the classic and paint them brown, but if your kiddo wants to paint them purple, I say go for it!
Alternatively, you could use colored cardstock instead and use our template just to trace out the shapes. Again, cut out the pieces and decorate as you wish.
Now it’s time to put them together. Begin by making the front of the headband. Attach the ears and the antlers (as shown in the picture). If the antlers are a bit flimsy, you can add a wooden craft stick on the back, so they are a bit sturdier.
Then, attach the backside of the band. When you do this you will want to try measuring the headband around your kiddo’s head so it fits.
Voila! Your reindeer antlers headband is all done!
How to download the reindeer antlers template?
