Have you baked your gingerbread men yet? My 3-year old loves baking cookies and decorating them with icing and sprinkles and whatever else she can get her hands on.
Her little brother is not as impressed with the decorating part. That’s not to say he doesn’t like eating them, of course.
And there’s another thing they both love probably as much as eating gingerbread cookies – and that is playdoh!
So for Day 12 of the YES! Christmas Activity Challenge I thought I’d make them a Christmassy playdoh activity mat.
Gingerbread Man Playdoh Mat
I made this simple gingerbread man playdoh mat and my littles had so much fun with them when we tested them out!
I printed them out and put them in dry erase pocket sleeves to protect the paper. You can skip this and just make your creations directly on the paper, but it might wrinkle and get dirty from the playdoh.
Then I just let them do whatever they wanted with them. My 3-year old made him eyes and a mouth, buttons, and all your typical decorations. At 1,5-years old her little brother didn’t really care much for the actual gingerbread man, but he enjoyed playing along with his sister.
All in all, it was a big hit. They played very happily for a good chunk of time. So I think we’ll be doing it again sometime in the next few weeks.
